British singer Elton John is to give a single performance on June 17 at the Ramat Gan Stadium. Producing the show is Marcel Avram, who also brought Leonard Cohen to Israel last September. As with Cohen's concert, no standing-room tickets will be sold, and prices will range from NIS 250 to NIS 1,000.
Tickets will go on sale to the public through the Le'an ticket agency on February 13, preceded four days earlier by ticket sales to employees of Bank Discount, which is sponsoring the concert.
Sir Elton John's last appearance in Israel, in 1993, involved a great deal of drama. The British singer left the country after he landed, unhappy with the great deal of media attention. He returned one day later and appeared before an audience of 40,000.
