Israeli Singer Calls on Fans to Fight 'Leftist Satan' With Love
Amir Benayoun is no stranger to controversy; a planned concert for President Rivlin was cancelled last year after he described an Arab as 'ungrateful scum.'

Singer Amir Benayoun, who last year caused a storm with a song that described an Arab student as "ungrateful scum," has called on his fans to show love to left-wing Israelis, who, he said, have an "unfathomable hatred for their Jewish brothers."
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Benayoun likened the election campaign of the left – which, he said, was aimed at ensuring that "nothing remains here; not of Jews and not of Judaism" – as the "last convulsions of Satan."
"I ask everyone who cares about about love of Israel, love of the Jewish people and love of the Jewish state to do everything to defeat the Satan with the weapon that he hates most – love."
Benayoun called on his fans "to spread love of the country and of the people, brotherly and Jewish love." And he instructed them to do it "in every way that seems right, using every tool that will serve the purpose."
He concluded by quoting the Lubavitcher Rebbe as saying "a small light dispels a large darkness."
A planned concert with Benayoun was cancelled by President Reuven Rivlin late last year, following the release of the lyrics to the song "Ahmed loves Israel."
