Banksy, Idris Elba Call for End to Syria Bloodshed in New Video
Animated clip coincides with third anniversary of Syrian conflict.
Banksy and Idris Elba have teamed to raise awareness around the bloodshed in Syria with a short animated film marking the third anniversary of the conflict.
Starting with Banksy's iconic "Girl with the Red Balloon, #WithSyria intersperses stencil illustrations with facts and figures from the civil war, such as the 100,00 death toll and the mass displacement of people from their homes.
The deep and distinct voice of Elba narrates the clip over the song The Blanket Of Night" by Elbow.
The video is part of a campaign by WithSyria, a global coalition humanitarian and human rights groups.
"Will we let the people of Syria lose another year to bloodshed and suffering?" Elba asks as the almost 2-minute video comes to a close.
