Settler Advocacy Group Targets Kerry in New Satirical Website

Site mocks 'failed' peace efforts by secretary of state, building on previous spoofs.

A new satirical website launched by the Yesha Council of settlements targets the "failed" peace efforts by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in the region, building on the popularity of recent spoofs the group says went viral.

Alongside the previous "John Kerry Solutions, Ltd." videos, the website features three animated videos mocking the negotiations: Cynically-titled "We've Got a Peace Partner," which takes aim at Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas; a "brief review" of previous U.S. diplomatic failures in the region named "Misadventures in the Middle East," and a call-to-arms animated short, "When Israel Said No."

In a press release, the settler advocacy group says the website "is part of a larger YESHA Council public policy campaign against capitulating to US Secretary pressure to surrender the strategic hills of Judea and Samaria that overlook 70% of Israel’s population to create a Palestinian state."

The council also notes with a degree of pride that the previous "John Kerry Solutions" videos "were seen by millions worldwide, leading to an official response and media backlash from the State Department."

The first two videos mocking Kerry were published in January and earlier this month. The first one featured an actor portraying the secretary of state, who is seen offering solutions that do nothing but make matters worse (such as proposing "American assistance" in the form of cash to a homeless man on the street.) In the second video, the same actor offers to build a new Western Wall near the beach and replacing the army with a camera that would shame terrorists instead of killing them.
