Janitor Suspected of Molesting Minors at Jerusalem Synagogue
Gil Dvash, 45, allegedly assaulted children during their visits to the Jerusalem synagogue where he worked.
Jerusalem prosecutors charged a Jerusalem man on Friday with allegedly molesting several minors in multiple instances. The suspect allegedly assaulted the victims as they were visiting the synagogue where he worked as a janitor.
The man, Gil Dvash, 45, allegedly gave the children money for candy and then assaulted them, the prosecutors wrote in the indictment.
In the most serious offense, according to the prosecution, Dvash allegedly sexually assaulted a 9-year-old boy with whom he had developed a close relationship.
The alleged sexual assaults were exposed after Dvash was caught by a visitor to the synagogue, but he was only arrested later on, over two weeks ago, after locals noticed he had returned to wander around the compound.
