Iran has deployed missile batteries in the Persian Gulf in an attempt to deter an attack against its nuclear facilities, the Saudi newspaper Al-Watan reported yesterday.

An Iranian source told Al-Watan that the deployment took place after the Islamic Republic received secret information that the United States and Israel were planning to attack it. According to the report, the deployment includes surface-to-air missiles and surface-to-sea missiles, and indicates that Iran believes an attack on its nuclear facilities will be conducted by air or sea.
