Palestinian Indicted in Young Woman's Murder
A Palestinian was indicted yesterday for murdering a young woman from Petah Tikva, after attempting to kidnap her in her car.
Mahmad Ja'idi, of Qalqiliya, 21, was charged in the Tel Aviv District Court with attempting to steal the car Inbal Amram, 20, was driving, and trying to kidnap her so that she would show him the way out of Petah Tikva.
When Amram resisted, Ja'idi stabbed her in the neck. Later, he tried to set the car on fire, to cover his tracks, while she bled to death inside it. He was indicted for murder, robbery, abduction, arson and being in Israel illegally.
On March 4, close to midnight, Amram left home to go pick up her sister who was a few blocks away. As soon as she entered her parents car parked outside, Ja'idi attacked her with his knife and forced her to move to the passenger seat.
Amram tried to escape from the vehicle and Ja'idi, fearing that she would call for help, stabbed her deeply in the throat, the charges say.
