The Jewish Heart organization and other right-wing groups have published an additional set of guidelines to IDF reservists who received call-up orders recently.
The reservists are being asked to refuse to fulfill their tour of duty, because it will contribute indirectly to the evacuation.
"The reservists won't be violating Jewish law," Jewish Heart wrote. "They will `only' be complicit." The letter explained that conscript soldiers are already being taken out for training prior to the evacuation, and therefore, a large number of reservists has been called up.
Jewish Heart listed four possible scenarios in its guidelines:
"1. You may decide to refuse. Send a fax to the liaison officer, and explain your reasons with a rhetorical question: `How can I participate in such a crime?'... from here on ignore all calls or mail.
2. You may decide to ignore the call. `I didn't hear, I didn't see, I didn't know.'
3. You may decide to shirk duty (a birth, studies, work, etc.)
4. If you want to help expel Jews and destroy their homes, confirm receiving the order."
The guidelines end with an explanation reassuring refusers that they are unlikely to get into trouble with the army.
