Some 18,254 professional and amateur runners participated in Tel Aviv's annual marathon on Friday.
This year's marathon attracted about 8,000 more runners than that of 2010.
About 1,300 participants were set to run the full 42 km, while another 4,800 registered for the half-marathon and another 9,400 for the 10 km run.
Also on tap was a 4.2 km run for the masses, a 420 m children's course, a hand-bike race and an inline-skates competition. The event is the largest of its kind in Israeli history.
Unfortunately, the event was not entirely mishap free. Channel 10 reported that Magen David Adom emergency services had to bring in six runners for medical assistance.

Two of those hospitalized were reportedly in serious condition due to severe dehydration. The two were unconscious when they arrived at Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital.
