A loud explosion was heard outside the house of opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Friday.

The blast was apparently a result of a firecracker thrown at the security stand outside Livni's Tel Aviv home. Livni was not at her house when the explosion occurred.

Eyewitnesses and neighbors said that after the explosion was heard, a cloud of smoke was seen rising next to Livni's home. Shin Bet forces and a bomb disposal unit quickly arrived at the scene to inspect the premises, who closed down Livni's street in the Ramat Hachayal neighborhood in north Tel Aviv.

It is still unclear whether the event was a result of a prank or who is responsible for the deed.
