In its 13-9 win, Meridian jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Chasidim looked poised for big rallies in both the third and fourth. However, clutch plays by Meridian's defense stemmed the tide, and Meridian pounded out seven runs to build an 11-4 lead.

In an upset that shook up the Holyland Series playoff bracket, Meridian stunned number-two seed Chasidim and advanced to the semifinals. The other top seeds - Milk and Cookies, Cafe Rimon and Lobos - all prevailed to fill out the Final Four.

Another rally drew Chasidim within two, but Meridian picked up insurance runs and then shut down the would-be Chasidic dynasty, securing a semifinal matchup against Milk and Cookies.

The dairymen did their part with a 12-6 victory over Paskesz. Chaim Weber helped power a six-run inning right out of the gates to take a commanding lead, and knocked in a whopping nine RBIs on the day. Pitcher Josh Shapiro mixed it up on the mound, getting out of several jams against the dangerous Paskesz squad.

Cafe Rimon cruised into the semis with a 27-3 romp of Kids of Courage. Claiming the final semifinal spot, Lobos outgunned Lake Como Pizza 14-8 last Tuesday.
