Lod Residents Arrested With Large Amount of Drugs in Their Socks

Police found large quantity of substance suspected to be cocaine or heroine.

Two Lod residents were arrested Monday on the Tel-Aviv-Jerusalem Highway with 600 individual wraps of a substance suspected to contain heroine or cocaine stuffed into two pairs of socks. The police suspect they sold the drugs while parked with their car on the highway's shoulder.

Several persons suspected of intent to purchase drugs from the pair were detained in the vicinity.

In an effort to avoid arrest the suspects rammed their into the police vehicle.

The two will be brought to the Tel Aviv peace court Tuesday where the police will request to extend their arrest.
