Fortune teller held for 'cancer' fraud

A Jaffa fortune teller was detained yesterday by Tel Aviv police's fraud unit for allegedly taking NIS 500,00 from a 67-year-old widow in exchange for treating a phony brain tumor. The widow reportedly came to the home of suspect Sana Kuma, complaining of a lump on her head. Kuma told her it was cancerous, and that she could treat it, but ordered her not to seek professional medical help or tell acquaintances. Throughout 2008, the police report states, the suspect "treated" the woman with costly amulets, injections and concoctions. (Yuval Goren)
