During the month of July Israeli golfers participated in a number of tournaments abroad.
Laetitia Beck and Asaf Cohen played in the Junior British Open at the Hesketh Golf Club near Southport, England, and Beck completed the tournament with third place in the girls' section, and Cohen 18th in the boys'. Beck was awarded a trophy for the best Junior Golfer from Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Denis Leonov, Daniel Strassler, Leslie Ben Amir and Yair Fridrich participated in the Russian Amateur Open and the best result was achieved by Leonov who came in 18th place out of a field of more than 100 players.
This past week saw Beck, Cohen and Dor Hacham at the prestigious European Young Masters, which was held at the Chantilly Golf Club near Paris.
Beck finished tied for fifth place out of a field of the 49 of the best Junior Girl Golfers in all of Europe; Cohen finished in 32nd place in the boys' section and Hacham 47th. There were 50 participants in the boys section.
In August a team of six senior golfers will be traveling to Ireland to participate in the European Senior Team Championships at the Shannon Golf Club, and Laetitia Beck will return to the United Kingdom to play in the British Girls Championship in Scotland.
In September Israel will be represented at the Turkish Open Championship in Belek by Barry Shaked, Denis Leonov and Asaf Cohen, and the players will be competing on the Nick Faldo-designed Cornelia Golf Course.
