An indictment was filed Sunday morning at the Tel Aviv District Court against actor Hanan Goldblatt, charging him with five counts of sexual assault against women who took acting lessons from him.
Goldblatt, 64, a resident of Beit Nehamia, has been charged with rape, attempted rape, sodomy, indecent acts with minors, fraud and attempted fraud.
The indictment states that Goldblatt carried out these acts of sexual assault against women who turned to him for acting advice. In the majority of the cases, the sexual contact was consensual, with the women claiming he requested to train them for future soap operas roles of young women who tempt older men. According to the indictment, Goldblatt would caution the women against telling anyone what he requested of them.
The indictment recommended that Goldblatt be arrested until the end of the legal procedures against him, noting the detailed testimonies of the complainants, their families and friends and the psychologist who treated one of the complainants.
As for the danger Goldblatt poses to the public, the indictment notes that his behavior appear to repeat itself, and that when he did not succeed in gaining the consent of the women he sought to seduce, he would force himself on them.
