Britain's Queen Elizabeth conveyed her "warm congratulations" on Monday to President-elect Reuven Rivlin. The card containing her message read:

"MESSAGE FROM HM THE QUEEN
"I send my warm congratulations to you on your election as President of the State of Israel. I am sure that the strong relations and close ties of friendship between our two countries will continue during your term of office.
"I extend to you and the people of Israel, my best wishes for a peaceful and prosperous future."
Rivlin, a veteran Likud Knesset member who is very popular with his colleagues and the public, was elected president by the Knesset on June 10. He will be sworn in July 24 and replace President Shimon Peres.
