The 13th annual Eilat Gay Pride, to be held May 15-17, will be opened by singer George Alan McDowd, the Jewish Chronicle reported Thursday.

Not impressed? Alright, McDowd is better known as Boy George, one of the first openly, unabashedly gay pop artists to break into the mainstream, scoring hits with "Karma Chameleon" and "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" as vocalist for the band Culture Club.

Boy George, 52, is slated to perform an all-night DJ set with music producer Mark Vedo at the Temptation party on Dekel Beach.

After Eilat, Israel's gay pride events continue June 8-13 in Tel Aviv, ending with the traditional giant parade.
