Algeria's World Cup team will donate their team salary of about $9 million to the people of Gaza, according to the Daily Mail.

Forward Islam Slimani, who scored two goals and had one assist during the World Cup, said the team's decision was because "they need it more than us."

Algeria's team made a surprise run to the Round of 16, coming in second place in their group after defeating Korea, drawing with Russia and losing to Belgium.

They nearly shocked heavily-favored Germany in the Round of 16, but ultimately lost 2-1 after extra time. They were the last African team remaining in the whole tournament.
