Raimondas Zutautas officially signed yesterday with Panathinaikos Athens. The 30 year old Lithuanian captain, who played for Maccabi Haifa for the past four seasons will earn $300,000 a year before premiums. Zutautas signed a one year contract with an option to extend it another year.
Tomorrow Zutautas will take part in coach Yitzhak Shum's inaugural training session, open only to the press. It will be the first time in the club's history that the opening training session of the season has been closed to fans.
Reports in Greece yesterday were skeptical that Giovanni Rosso would follow Shum and Zutautas on to the Athens ferry.
