REUTERS - Five people have been killed by unknown attackers who raided a village on Kenya's coast near Mpeketoni town where about 65 people died in assaults last week, a government official said on Tuesday.
Somali militant group Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for last week's attacks on the Mpeketoni area, although Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta dismissed al Shabaab's account and said local politicians were behind it.
"I am aware that a gang that is unknown attacked Taa village in Witu division yesterday (Monday) night and killed five people," Lamu County commissioner, Stephen Ikua, told Reuters.
