Why Israelis refuse to admit they are poor
The one who is influential is the one who is suffering and who brought this government to power. He can have an impact but he sits at home, hating the protesters, and forgetting those gaps of which he is a victim.
Until I grew up, I did not know that I, too, had been a “gap” victim. I did not know my family was poor, even though by today’s standards it was. When I grew up, I understood that the wealth gap is measured according to the neighbors, and not according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.
