The success of Naftali Bennett is the failure of the Israeli center-left

Naftali Benet wants to prevent a Palestinian state, and will slowly annex the WB. Fine. Will he be prepared to grant the Palestinians full citizenship and full rights, including right to vote in the Kneset? If so, then he's not as bad as I thought. Israel in the form of a sort of Belgium with two ethnic groups in a nearly 50/50 basis is preferable to the current status quo.

You mentioned items that shook me up. The return of Palestinians to the West Bank making it another hate-filled over populated Gaza, and the probability that Israel will be sandwiched by rocket fire from both directions. I have not seen these arguments before and I read quite widely. These are the strongest arguments against having a Palestinian state bordering Israel. Don't keep it a secret. Market it. Make the world aware of these problems. The Palestinians use every format to make their case. The Israelis keep everything quiet. Maybe it will go away. It won't go away and the sooner you use all venues as your pulpit the less damage you will do to an already sinking ship.

I worked for Naftali at Cyota, I can tell you there are few people whose integrity, honesty and ability to appreciate and absorb differences of idealogy and opinion I value higher than his. He won't get my vote, but I am truly happy for Naftali to be a strong force in Israeli politics. Ken yirbu kamohu!

I will give my vote for Naftali, but i know that he will not change anything. He declares an old quotes of the traditional orthodox Judaism. Isreal is waiting for a new deep vision. I believe that the vision can result from tradition and Torah, but in the most profound and open way. For now there is no real alternative for the rational and logical vision of the left. Bennett cannot represent the will of a demorcratic and pluralistic Israel nor the Jewish Diaspora.

Religious Zionists have always treasured the State of Israel, even with all of its secularism. Shavit needs to learn to treasure the State of Israel even if religiosity becomes dominant over secularism. It's still our state, and we are still the Jewish nation. Democracy is rule of all the people, not rule of just the secular people.

IT's that the Israeli population is shifting more to the nationalist and religious camps. Meretz's and Labor's message is resounding among the left wingers; but there are fewer and fewer of them. By the way if you do a little research you will easily see there is no such people as palestinians. They are Arabs living in Israel. There is no such country as palestine. The Romans changed the name of Israel to palestine after murdering millions of Jews almost 2000 years ago. Answer this, when was the country of palenstine formed. Who was their leader before the murderer arafat, what was their currency, what were their borders. There are no answers because this is a canard created to take the land of Israel away from Jews with politics and world pressure since the Arabs lose every war they start with us.
