President should do something to show his people that every single life is valuable and that he doesn't need to just sit down and count how many more lives are to be lost. Israel needs a good leader that can protect them from this kind of violence. This must end soon before the whole country collapses and blame him for his inefficiency as a leader thus creating more chaos in their country.

No way. You cannot talk with terrorist. Not Labor party or Kadima, or Avoda. Nobody. If Hamas cease terrorist violence could start talking. But, is it possible to trust in Hamas? All moves in circles. Who can break this vicious circle?

Back in 2005 when we gave up Aza, we should have reconsidered then. Seven years later we still have bombings, and Palestinian terrorists don't care to make peace, but to finish the job that Hitler could not do, wipe us out as a people! Not all Palestinian's are terrorists, some are even pro-Israel, but the ones in charge are. My question is this, now that we have this fragile truce, which we know the Muslims will break, what will prevent us to go back into Aza and do the same thing we did back in 2008? I do not want anymore phone calls telling me parts of my family are sitting shiva because of their child being murderd by terrorists. Aza is our G-d given land, that being said let's reclaim it as such! Obviously giving it up for peace was misguided.

For a start - We live in Switzerland. It wont matter how good or bad Israel will solve upcoming problems - the media and most people in the eu are mostly anti-israel anyway. so please just dont care about opinions in the world and do whats needed to protect israel.

Israel’s numerous and vocal critics always talk about “disproportionality”, about how wicked it is to have a state as well-armed as Israel attack a territory as poor and huddled as Gaza. Yet if anything, the disproportionality between Obama and the poor parts of Pakistan he incessantly bombs is far greater. Unlike Hamas, these tribal militants do not fire a steady stream of rockets into American territory, yet they regularly feel Obama’s fiery wrath. These Pakistani militants for the most part come from amateurish and shabby groups, yet they frequently find themselves being obliterated by the most powerful military force on Earth. But when did you last hear concerned, sad-eyed activists over here kick up a fuss about the brutal disproportionality of Obama versus rural Pakistanis?

They are abusing and overusing their lobbies to continue. They besieged their lobbies around the world against the Iranians , and Iranians as I 100 times commented here that they will do, inflicted as much damage as they inflicted on Iranian economy on Israeli security. Dude, we didn't need to kill each other like this. We don't have any fight over our lands. You just needed to calm down the US, and create a place for life for the Palestinians. However you did exactly opposite. You prevented the creation of a Palestinian state by any mean and you damaged Iranians across the world as by so many crazy inventions

The Iron Dome, with all its successes, is a an expensive system to shot down inexpensive amunition. It was also a pork barel project for Rafael in need of monies, perhaps the main reason for developing the system in house. I would like to point out that effective systems were available, The Goal Keeper System designed by General Dynamics in the Seventies using the Multi-Barrel machine gun designed by General Electric in the Sixties and continually upgraded, in use world wide, would have been available off the shelf , mening almost instantly. 30 mm shells fired at the rate of 6000 rounds per minute would certainly detroy the unsofisticated rokets. The system could have been in place from day one of this atrition by the Terror organizations, on the northen border as well as in front of Gaza. Tweeking the systems by Rafael would of course have been much less glamorous and certainly less costly to the IDF, with results not much different than the ones scored by Iron Dome. David Gutholc. Israel needs to revolutionize its land army. It can easily be done. The current theories (including those of american army) are unfortunately outdated. This will allow Israel more room to maneuver politically and at least create stability and some kind of peace. But even more important, Israel really needs to spend some "smarts", money and effort on public relations, especially in Europe against its media. This too can easily be done. It is trully unbelievable how it has ignored this sphere. Gaining the moral high ground even in the eyes of the anti-Semitic Europe will again expand room for israel to maneuver militarily and politically in the future.

But with a friend like Haaretz, Israel cannot win. Because the political left can only think in terms of Utopia, win without casulties and not offending Arabs. And after the win, return more land. People around the world are laughing at progressive Jews.

They couldn't live in white neighborhoods, go to white schools, drink from white drinking fountains, sit side by side on the same bus. 60 years later blacks and whites have learned to work and live together side by side in peace. Even electing a black President. Meanwhile in Israel a childish schoolyard feud between Jews and Palestinians has been going on for over 60 years, too. Only unlike the blacks and whites, Jews and Palestinians are no closer to living side by side in peace today than they were 60 years ago. During those 60 years Apartheid in South Africa i ended; Communists and Capitalists figured out a way to co-exists and cooperate; the IRA ended its bloody war in Ireland; America and Communist Vietnam buried their differences and now share diplomatic and trade relations. People across the globe have learned to put aside their differences and beliefs and have learned that there is more to be gained by working together than fighting against each other. Only the the Jews and the Palestinians, continue their 60 year old feud of self-righteous hatred and revenge. If Jews and Palestinians can't be creative enough to find a way to live in peace...like everyone else...maybe they should be left to bomb each other for another 60 years or until nothing is left in Israel and Gaza but of rubble and dead bodies.
