New education ministers, old school
There is an inherent contradiction between a person's success at getting a ministerial seat and the possibility that such a person will be an educational paragon.
Back when I was in high school, 40 years ago, there were already complaints that schools had become grade factories. That students were ignorant and had no manners as compared to the way they were in the past, that the school system was not egalitarian, and that the minds of kids from good families were only on jeans and espresso. I also remember that there was talk of introducing reforms even then. Reforms here...
