Lieberman's Criminal Charges Turns Spotlight on Attorney General

The likelihood that foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman will avoid major criminal charges has turned the spotlight on the attorney general and state prosecutor, both of whom have not displayed powerful leadership.

Proponents of conspiracy theories would offer the following description of events surrounding the criminal investigation of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman for alleged fraud, money laundering and breach of trust: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lieberman appoint Yaakov Neeman as justice minister; Neeman and Netanyahu name Yehuda Weinstein as attorney general; and Weinstein closes the Lieberman case.
