Interesting article. It does (perhaps for obvious reasons) miss the number of non-Jews who have or had a Jewish father. I myself live in Scotland and am in that position. Whilst identifying with the Jews, conversion proved not to be an option as I live some distance from any community. The outreach program has helped (is helping) to unite some of us as well, for which I am truly grateful. There may be others in the area - one can always hope that the word gets out so possibly people can meet socially and exchange ideas. Having only been introduced to the Scottish/Jewish world several years ago it proved to be an eye opener and I have spent as much time as possible ever since, learning about Judaism. My thanks to those who put my feet on this path - all Scottish Jews.
