In the 'land of the unsatisfied' || Caught between settlers and Palestinians, IDF commanders discuss difficult choices
In new academic study examining complex relations between IDF and Jewish settlers in the West Bank, soldiers speak with unusual candor about the dilemmas they face while serving.
"One day the soldiers are saints and the people give them Hanukkah donuts, and the next day we are Jew-haters," says the commander of a territorial brigade in the West Bank, describing the army's relations with settlers. The quote is from a Ph.D. dissertation completed last year by Hadas Minka-Brand.
