America's interest in Israel and the Middle East is waning

On 6 March Swedish TV carried the news: "FN-kritik mot barnfångar i Israel" -- The U.N. Blames Israel for Detaining and Mal-Treating 7,000 Palestinian Children in the last Decade. Finnish TV had a similar title: "YK moittii Israelia lasten kohtelusta". The UNICEF Report said that this amounts to SYSTEMATIC and INSTITUTIONAL CRIME. "In no other country are children detained and judged by Military Courts, which do not guarantee their rights". "Mal-Treating Palestinian Children starts from their Detention and goes on in their Interrogation and Judgement", read the Story on Finland's Public Service TV. But in America -- and in Israel -- this report did not even reach the back pages.

As evidenced by the lack of resolution in the ME, America can no longer justify billions upon billions of wasted foreign aid. America needs to worry about America. "Sink or Swim Israel" seems to be the phase of the day..

They desperately need to cling to US. Without the US Israel will collapse like a deck of cards. So those who put o a brave front - good luck and hope Adelson and his ilk will bail you out, and protect you at the UN.

And Amos Harel knows that - Nor is it waning as the M.E. "COP" o/b of its "Great Friend".

But their political people know which side of their bread is buttered. When there comes a time Israel is in trouble the proper obeisance will be paid to Israeli leaders and whatever aid is necessary with come to Israel.

I think this article was very well written. I haven't seen such a true and honest overview of the situation in the Middle East and Israel and America for that matter. I haven't read such a well written article in America, It seems that the news is veiled behind a shade of pink. The article is most objective, which is what we need more of in order to get things done in America and overseas. II have been shocked by developing policies in American, and we are grabbing each other's throats over policies foreign and domestic. It illustrates a lack of action of which I've been witnessing for the past four years. It would seem to me that we are as equally divided in both nations.

Who are those blood suckers? Can you stop and think of those who has been or will be at receiving end of the US aggressions. After all, we all human and all we want is peace and comfort. Why cannot you be happy with you have. You know if we continue on the road to greed, it will eventually destroys you and all.

Now it has to sleep in it. And in light of Israel's policy on settlements and the construction freeze, what kind of international support does Israel expect if Intifada III breaks out and Israel reacts with a strong hand?

No wonder. The current Israeli approach to the world no longer represents values Americans cherish, as it used to. The list of these broken values is long.

Sometimes I have the impression that we Israelis are the most demanding and paranoid creatures in the universe. Why should the absence of war drums beating at the AIPAC shindig in Washington signal diminishing American interest in Israel? Does the US have to go to war to prove its allegiance and fidelity to the Jewish State? I, for one, don't think so.

THE only reason the states cares about the Middle East are for self serving purposes(oil). With America set to become the worlds biggest oil producer in 2020 why would they even care about Israel after that. Make peace now before no one cares what happens to you any more.

Doing evil things will not win you fans.
