For years, the “Israeli breakfast” has been the star of local hotel cuisine. The bigger and more varied the buffet, the more prestigious it’s considered and the more stars it rates in the tourist guides. To judge by the pride of place that breakfast holds in the local culture, you’d think the average Israeli wakes up chewing and doesn’t let up until he’s so full he has to go rest some more.
