I am a right-wing settler, of course living on the West Bank ( of Jordan or the Euphrates, whichever suites you) I bought this weeks Haaretz since you were featured in the magazine section. I think the article didn't say much ,same old Haaretz rhetoric Although,since you mentioned you don't have any Jewish girlfriends......I am extending my friendship to you!

Given the Israeli Right's determination to establish an ethnocracy like white-ruled South Africa in the entire area west of the Jordan, it would be fortunate indeed if MK Zuabi were able to emerge as a Mandela-type leader, seeking equality for all while opposing acts of vengeance by the Palestinian majority once they achieve equal political rights. Hopefully there will a Jewish deKlerk in a position of power as well.

hanin, i am israeli who does recognize the tragedy of your people caused by my people. i do my best to help palestinians - farmers, sheperds. hatered is the outcome of ignorance, racism and fear. it is shameful that jews did not learn from their own history that our behaviour justifice the racism towards us. if israel was a true democracy, we would learn at school what terrible deeds our soldiers commutted during the `48 war and we would not be ignorant. then, if we would addmit and accept our responsibility, we could have learned how essential it is to seek peace, equallity and true justice for all who live here. we could build a country without wars and prosper instead of occupy and humiliate palestinians, daily, and expect them to accept this bitter reality !!!

I respect her and feel ashame for my country

If we ever saw a person like Hanin Zoubi serving as Israel's prime minister we can be certain there is no longer an existential threat to that troubled land! And Hats off to Dalia Karpel, a compassionate and beautifully written, article.

This woman's courage, class and dignity are displayed more prominently amidst the backdrop of the racist mk scoundrels who try to oppress her and the unconscionable fools who stand idly by. How embarassing for Israel!.

I like her approach; it seems to me she intends to be active as a symbol, as a representative of intellectual views, and maybe even just because of her existence a person she might be effective in public discourse.

A Jewish person couldn't do that in Gaza, Egypt, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, etc., etc. THAT'S the difference.

This woman has more strength, class and depth of character in her thumb depth than all of the Knesset combined. What a grave embarassment and indictment of the Savages who maligned her to uphold the disgusting culture of Israeli politics.

In a democracy if we disagree or dislike the actions of others we discuss and debate those issues. It is disgusting and unlawful to physically attack someone. This blatant aggressive behaviour is no different to school bullying and not worthy of politicians of a democracy!
