Hila Luzia, 13, Reut, entering 8th grade at Mor School

Style of dress?

“I don’t know. A tucked-in shirt because that’s the fashion now, and skinny jeans. On Friday nights I wear a skirt or dress. My sister, who’s 18, has really good taste. Sometimes I borrow from her and she helps me decide what to wear."

How often do you buy clothes?

“I try to go to the mall every week with Mom, but it ends up being once a month.”

Where?

“Zara, Pull & Bear, and overseas, Abercrombie.”

Who pays?

“Mom.”

Hobbies?

“I’ve been horseback riding for five years, dancing jazz and ballet for three years, and I like to go out to the movies on Friday with my girlfriends.”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“To work as an assistant counselor at a horseback-riding camp, to ride horses all day, to go to the beach and the pool a lot, to go to Tel Aviv and stuff like that. Just to have fun.”

Plans for life?

“To keep on with the horses and to be an actress on TV.”

Galit Topor, 16, Tel Aviv, going into 11th grade at Tichon Hadash

Style of dress?

“Casual-elegant. I mostly wear AllStar sneakers, skinny jeans or tights, and a T-shirt. During the summer vacation I wear more open and revealing clothes. My mother isn’t crazy about it, but my father says it suits me.”

How often do you buy clothes?

“About once a month.”

Where?

“I go with my Mom to Castro, Zara and Jump. And I go with my friends to Dizengoff, but not to expensive places.”

Who pays?

“Mom, but I choose. If she doesn’t like it, I think again.”

Hobbies?

“Scouts, basketball, computer, TV.”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“The Scouts summer camp in Hazorea Forest, and a trip to Eilat with girlfriends.”

Plans for life?

“I have no idea.”

Almog Dabush, 16, Bat Yam, going into 11th grade at Ramat Yosef

Style of dress?

“Skater. That means shoes that are comfortable to ride a skateboard with, pants that I pull down a little so the underwear shows, a shirt that’s one size too big for me. I also wear my school shirt one size bigger.”

How often do you buy clothes?

“It depends how much money I’m making, usually about once a month.”

Where?

“At Bluebird, a store for surfing and that kind of stuff, and once in a while I fly to America because my mother’s brother lives there, and then I stock up on stuff for the whole year.”

Who pays?

“I do, I don’t ask my parents for money.”

Hobbies?

“Skateboarding, raising snakes, graffiti art, movies, friends, going out.”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“To work as an assistant director at a camp at Tel Aviv University.”

Plans for life? “Until seventh grade my dream was to become a veterinarian. I raise snakes at home and I used to have tarantulas, too. Now I’m planning to be an architect or something. Maybe something to do with design and graffiti.”

Nur Katz, 13, Tel Aviv, going into 8th grade at Ironi Aleph

Style of dress?

“I don’t know what to call it, whatever looks good. I like how Agyness Deyn, Kate Moss and Blake Lively dress. I like to dress nicely, even for school, but it doesn’t have to be fancy.”

How often do you buy clothes?

“It depends. Two days ago I bought something new after a long time when I didn’t buy anything. My parents laughed at me for buying a sweater in June, but it was on sale.”

Where?

“My favorite places to shop are American Apparel, TopShop and H&M.”

Who pays? “Either Mom or Dad, or I pay with my money. Sometimes it’s for my birthday or holidays.”

Hobbies?

“I like to sew. I’m not that great at it, but I have a sewing machine and I’ve made all kinds of clothes. Besides that, I don’t have any special hobbies. I don’t go to Scouts or other activities.”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“To do nothing. To be at home, on the computer, on Facebook, to go to the beach with friends.”

Plans for life? “To be a fashion designer.”

Shahar Levy, 18, Jerusalem, just finished 12th grade at Gilo Comprehensive High School

Style of dress?

“Whatever’s around. When I have to, like for special events, I get dressed up, but otherwise I don’t care even if my shirt is torn.”

How often do you buy clothes?

“Once a year. For special events or holidays my mother makes me come with her to buy clothes, and sometimes I buy a cool shirt with a cool message, like one with a picture of Herzl that says, ‘We don’t want it, there’s no need.'"

Where?

“I don’t know, my Mom buys things for me, or brings me clothes from friends of hers whose sons have grown out of them.”

Who pays?

“Mom, obviously.”

Hobbies?

“Making music − I play drums and bass and I’m in a band called Hakarnafim ‏(The Rhinoceroses‏).”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“For the next month I’m going to be working taking pictures at events, printing them on magnets and giving them out to guests. At the end of August, I’m going to the jazz festival in Eilat, and then I’m starting my year of national service in the arts, with the Nahal Brigade.”

Plans for life?

“I don’t know, but I’ll always want to be involved in music.”

Stav Petreshko, 17, Ramat Gan, going into 12th grade at Ankori School

Style of dress?

“Undefined. Every morning I wake up in a different mood, wanting to look different. That’s how I am. When I went to Blich High School in Ramat Gan, they had a uniform so I had no choice. But since I transferred here, I can wear the same thing at school and elsewhere − even if I feel like wearing an open, mesh shirt. Okay, I guess I wouldn’t go to school like that. But I just wear what I feel like wearing.”

How often do you buy clothes?

“Whenever I feel like it, about twice a month. But I don’t make crazy purchases. Maybe two shirts and a pair of jeans.”

Where?

“Castro, Fox, TNT, Lee Cooper.”

Who pays?

“I do some modeling so I have money from that for now. I used to work in an ice cream shop.”

Hobbies?

“I dance a little − breakdancing and modern dance. And I also like to act and I’ve been going to auditions lately. And I paint. I’m more into art than math and stuff like that.”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“I’ll go out a lot with friends. We’ll go to clubs, and during the day I’ll lie on the beach.”

Plans for life?

“I’m still making up my mind. Basically, I’m interested in studying fashion design.”

Galit Luzon, 16, Ashkelon

Style of dress?

“Spontaneous and elegant. During the vacation, more summery: tank tops, shorts. I’m not allowed to come to school like that, so I wear jeans and a school shirt.”

How often do you buy clothes?

“Whenever I see something nice.”

Where?

“There are lots of boutiques in Ashkelon, and sometimes in Tel Aviv.”

Who pays?

“My Mom, but I spend NIS 100-200 a month at most.”

Hobbies?

“Computer, going out with girlfriends.”

Plans for the summer vacation?

“I haven’t organized anything yet. I’m planning to work as a waitress and as a camp counselor, and to hang out with friends.”

Plans for life?

“I don’t know, I think I’ll keep on with accounting. And if I’m lucky, I’ll get famous, maybe as a model.”
