The concept of homeland is one of the most amazing and also, perhaps, one of the most ruinous of the modern era, says Prof. Shlomo Sand. In his new book, “When and How Was the Land of Israel Invented?” (Kineret, Zmora-Bitan Dvir, Hebrew), Sand examines the attitude of the Zionist movement toward that territory since its inception. More particularly, he is out to discover how Zionism adopted the idea...

Genetic research has made Shlomo Sands book irrelevant. Rather than wasting money on a work of fiction I would recommend that those Jewish readers who are interested in understanding their own history carry out a simple DNA test with 23andme, Family Tree DNA or one of the other genetic testing companies.

This man is a nutbar of the most dangerous kind. He totally ignores archeological evidence which shows that Jews have had a continuous presence in Israel for thousands of years. A revisionist. I'll bet he's mighty popular with Muslims.

04 0 0Shlome Sand ,a" constantine" of history
- By Absolute Sweden

"constantine" is a part of e-mail address of a mathematical hack to be found on Internet who "proves" the most difficult problems of mathematics : Riemann Hypotheses,Goldbach Conjecture,Twin Prime Conjecture,NP vs NPT -Constantine has a solution, Problems that have eluded greatest mathematitians and would have made the ones proving them immortal and instantly World known-Constantine has a solution in a couple of lines(Twin Prime) or a quarter of a page/Riemann H.) maximum. He makes all the right noises-formulating the problem and writing some lines of mathematical equations . He only asks for donations to his e-mail address, completely voluntary.Shlomo Sand doesn't need it ,he is paid by the TAU. I would recomnd the TAU also hires the "Constantine" ,in asubject much more serious than history-TAU would become World Famous in a jiffy.

'I have not seen concern among Catholics for their coreligionists in another country.” ' It's forgotten now of course, but one of the elements in the hesitation of Spain and other Latin countries to whole-heartedly support Hitler was his treatment of Catholic Poland. She should confine herself to areas where she is sure of her ground.

countries, which while at wr with each other doin't hesitate to enter hospitals of opponenents and execute wounded soldiers there, should they have refrained from helping Germany because Polish Catholics were so dear to them ? No,C ,they were completely disinterested in the war in the faraway Europe, neutrality served them well and if they hypothetically wanted actively to help Germany the RN and USN would have prevented it 100%

If there were many more Shlomo Sands in Israel the region and the country will look much differente, a place of peace and understanding with the Arab neighbors. Unfortunately people like him and Gideon Levy, my other heroe are too much alone.
