As a haredi msyelf it is clear to me that Mr. Pfeffer does not have a clue what he is talking about. Large haredi families can be found in any haredi community in the world, in the US, England, Belgium and so on. R' Eliashiv did author some important texts, he left to posterity four volumes of responsa. And in 100 years from now, Pfeffer will not merit even a footnote, whilst R' Eliashiv's halachic discussions will form the basis of many discussions. Whereas western society is completely enslaved by the fleeting present, orthodox Judaism is a community obsessed with the past, see for example their demonstrations against digging up the graves of their ancestors. No other community in the world has such veneration for its predecessors and 100 years from now when secular Judaism will have ceased to exist, R' Eliashiv will occupy a prominent place in the orthodox pantheon.
If selected for publication, it will appear as soon as possible on Haaretz.com.
