A Champions' League of Self-pity

We’ve gone through pogroms, the Holocaust, terrorist attacks, we are being shot at. So we can do what we want. We have the right. It’s our prerogative.

A few weeks ago, a store in the south of the country announced a promotional campaign, with a free tablet computer going to the first 100 people who showed up on the day of the campaign launch. As we saw on the evening news of the appointed day, a surging mass of hundreds, if not thousands, of people charged the store like a herd of stampeding elephants: pushing, shoving, hitting, crying, screaming and trampling....
