Haifa is an off-beat sort of city for a variety of reasons, one being that much of it perches on a mountaintop. Another is its self-proclaimed status as home to the Middle East’s only museum of Japanese art.

Thank you for this wonderful article (and for including essential information on museum days and hours, location, fees, etc.). "The Hare with Amber Eye" was an unforgettable read. Now I will visit and see, among the treasures, yet another collector's netsuke — lost and found.
