Three people were killed in road accidents around the nation this weekend.
Two people were killed Friday night and two were injured in a head-on collision on Road 65, near Dovrat junction, east of Afula.
Mohammad Hafez Zoabi and Qassem Zoabi, 18-year-olds from Masr, were killed instantly.
Dozens of people from the village quickly flocked to the scene of the accident, making it difficult for ambulances to evacuate the injured.
The accident occured along a 40-kilometer stretch of road that has claimed 24 lives in the past four years. The road has only one lane in each direction, despite the heavy traffic there.
In another accident this weekend, a 15-year-old from the village of Bara was killed and three relatives were injured at the nearby Kessem junction.
Police said the vehicle was driven by an 18-year-old new driver who apparently had lost control while turning, possibly at high speed, and slammed into a guardrail and a traffic light. The driver and two children in the back seat, were seriously injured.
Two men from the Carmel town of Isfiya, ages 20 and 23, were seriously injured in a head-on collision there. Police said one of the cars made a u-turn and hit the other.
