The heat wave will end today. Yesterday it was 36 degrees in Tel Aviv, 29 in Jerusalem, 33 in Haifa and "only" 30 in Eilat. Nahum Malik, of Meteo-Tech meteorology company, said a low-pressure sharav region in Libya and Egypt generated the heat wave by sending hot southern and south-eastern winds into our area. Today a cold air mass will arrive, bringing haze to most areas, and from noon the cold air will begin pushing out the hot. Temperatures will plummet and rain will spread across the country. Saturday will be cold with temperatures 15-20 degrees below Thursday's, but the rain will cease around noon. Sunday will stabilize and improve, but it will remain colder than the seasonal norm, especially in the hills. Monday will see the return of warmer days again.
