After losing in the finals of the men's singles at the $125,000 Privat Bank Cup in Ukraine yesterday, Harel Levy immediately afterward went on to lift the doubles crown along with Yonni Erlich. The two also won the doubles at the Bratislava Challenger last week.
Levy began the day against Irakli Labadze of Georgia, who won the first set 6-3. Levy won the second set 6-3, but the Georgian overpowered him 6-1 in the third set to complete a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 victory.
After a short break Levy came back on court with Erlich to face Simon Aspelin and Johan Landsberg in the doubles final. Levy and Erlich easily overcame their Swedish opponents 6-4, 6-3.
Levy picked up $10,000 and 63 ranking points that will lift him to 108 in the men's singles rankings. In the doubles, Levy will advance 77 in the world while Erlich climbs to 33rd. The two each picked up $4,000 for their doubles triumph.
