Dudi Sela advanced to the quarterfinals of the ATP Chennai Open on Wednesday after a three-set win over his French opponent. Sela rebounded to beat Benoit Paire 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. He will meet Canadian Milos Raonic, who disposed of Victor Hanescu of Romania 6-1, 6-4. The fourth-seeded duo of Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich also had a good day in Chennai, needing just two sets to oust the Spanish team of Pere Riba and Nicolas Almagro to advance to the doubles semifinals. Shahar Peer was less fortunate. She lost her closely contested, second-round doubles match at the Brisbane International along with her Russian partner Vera Dushavina to Nuria Llagostera Vives and Arantxa Parra-Santonja of Spain 7-5, 6-7 (5 ), 10-8.
Earlier in the week Amir Weintraub fell out of the Challenger tournament in New Caledonia, while Julia Glushko lost her first round match in Quanzhou, China.
