The board of Hapoel Tel Aviv yesterday allocated NIS 3 million for coach Shiya Feigenbaum to spend in the transfer market. Among the players targeted by the club lying at the bottom of the table are Gil Vermout of Hapoel Haifa and Elyaniv Barda of Maccabi Haifa.
The club's general manager, Guy Amoussi, said it was on the verge of completing negotiations with Belarussian striker Roman Vasilok and Colombian midfielder Carlos Sevilias.
A source at the club said that Hapoel was also planning to bring back on-loan striker Kfir Udi from Maccabi Petah Tikva at the end of the season.
Feigenbaum meanwhile lashed out at the press yesterday, saying that it was ignoring the fact that Hapoel was looking a lot better since he became the club's third coach this season last month. Feigenbaum added that by the end of the season, players who weren't willing to join Hapoel now would be knocking on its doors.
Hapoel captain Shimon Gershon also had harsh words for the press, accusing it of fabricating reports of a rift between players and management.
