Turkey sees 90% decline in Israeli tourism
Israelis have stayed away in droves ever since the Gaza flotilla incident.
By Irit RosenblumDespite Turkey's best efforts, Israeli tourists aren't returning. The number of Israelis who ventured to Turkey in July was down 90%, reaching a measly 4,500 vacationers - compared to 43,000 in July 2009, and 78,000 in July 2008.

Antalya, Turkey. Israelis have been ignoring the siren’s song. |
This is the second month in a row to see such a steep drop in vacationers: In June, just 2,600 Israeli tourists visited Turkey, compared to 27,000 in June 2009, and 62,000 in June 2008.
So far this year, the number of Israelis who have traveled Turkey is down 40% compared to the parallel period in 2009, and down 56% compared to 2008.
Relations between Israel and Turkey have been on shaky ground for a while, beginning with Operation Cast Lead in the winter of 2008-2009 and worsening this year following the flotilla incident at the end of May, in which Israeli commandos killed nine Turkish citizens aboard a ship attempting to break the Gaza blockade.
Ankara has insisted that the political discord shouldn't affect the relationship between the countries' citizens, and ramped up public relations in an effort to draw back Israelis, but the latter don't seem to be biting.
Charter airline Aviation Links informed the stock exchange that Turkish hoteliers still have the $5 million it deposited at the beginning of the season to reserve rooms. The airline will be renewing flights to Turkey on a small scale, due to the low demand.
Other charter airlines have started offering package deals to Antalya once again, and reported that travelers have been expressing interest.

The number of tourists lost to Turkey wouldn't even fill a decent sized football stadium in the UK. That's why a 90% drop of very little, is very little.
I am sure countries like Turkeys old enemy Greece would welcome Israeli tourists. There is no shortage of countries for Israelis to visit if they want to go abroad. Until Erdogan climbs down off his high horse and tries to patch things up with Israel then all that Israeli tourist money will continue to go elsewhere.
that German tourism business has been hit hard by the Haitian earthquake. The number of Haitian tourists has dropped dramatically. (Actually the drop was from very few to very very few). A fine example that, without even lying, you can easily distort the reality.
The media seem enchanted to proudly present numbers of a dramatic decraese in Israeli tourism to Turkey. What is conspicuously missing is information by proportion: Should Israeli contribution to Turkisch tourism drop, say, from 1% to 0.2%, it is dramatic in absolute numbers, but not in proportion. May I risk a wild guess and assume that such information would damage the average Israeli's conviction that his/her consumers' behaviour has a lot of significance abroad?
All people have now understood that nobody can trample on Israeli sovereignty without getting the appropriate response. From now on the relationship with Turkey shall be repaired on the basis of mutual interests.
Enraged by France's refusal after the 6 Day War to deliver prepaid Mirage fighter planes and missile boat I didn't return to visit until the late 1990s when France was more balanced about the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Israeli media seem enchanted by providing numbers of a dramatic decrease in Israeli tourists to Turkey. What is conspicuously missing is information about the percentage of Israeli tourism and if the "dramatic decrease" has any significant impact overall on the Turkish tourism branch. Is it a wild guess that such information would reveal how unimportant the Jewish contribution to the Turkish economy really is?
has filled the gap
that tourism from USA and south america is up 50 and 33% respectively during the same time period :)
The drop in tourists from Israel is only the tip of the iceberg. I'm in Canada and just among my immediate friends and friends of friends, there must be at least 20 families who have changed their travel plans (cruises) in order not to stop in Turkey. And they're not Israeli and not even close to being all Jewish. They're just not all that into supporting a country that supports fundamentalist Islamic groups a la IHH. Greece, here we come!
Hi, I am from Turkey. I suggest you come to Aegan Greek islands, you can watch Turkish televisions there.
...and can see total tourist numbers up 13.45 per cent year on year to July. Not bad during a global recession.
I'm sure that there are good Turks still around. That's not the point, Israelis have shown their backbone & not like the Jews of the Diaspora that never knew when the Goy was kissing them or hissing them !
With this belligerent and arrogant Erdogan regime in Turkey I don' feel a need to spend my holiday there. My money will end up in their coffers and may be spent later on Hamas and Jihad. I will find a more hospitable place. And I say it again: Turkey shall not be admitted to the EU.
The number of Israeli tourists coming to Turkey is only a very small percentage of the total number of tourists Turkey gets. Thanks to the removal of visas with many countries, and Turkey's improving image in the Middle East, the number of tourists has actually had a dramatic increase this year. The decline in Israeli tourists has been compensated many times by the increase in Middle Eastern tourists.
Israeli tourists were, by far, the greatest number of visitors to Turkey, spending their money all over the country. Turkish businesses loved the Israelis and all the business they brought.
A simple math calculation: 69000 less Israelis went to Turkey for holiday at the same time over than ONE Million extra tourists travelled to Turkey fro the neighbouring countries. Please stay home and enjoy your polluted beaches in Israel, no body misses you here.
Apparently the turkish chamber of commerce, the tourism industry and the enlightened people regret Israeli absence in Turkey and their replacement by thousands of mahometan tourists. Will talk about your stats in a couple of years...
Guys, do what ever you want even if it costs 1 trillon dollar to Turkey, as a Turkish citizen I am ready to pay more taxes or work harder if we lose something economically. 1 Thing the jews must understand this country and the people in it, you cant buy or frighten with money... No need to say but, people who are not ready to die for what they belaive are not worth a penny, You can spend you 300 million dollars on greece whereever you want. We dont need your money just please dont come.
Can you elaborate?
Ok Ragip, we will not go. Maybe Nasrallah will come out of his closet and visit. Don't get upset. Have a good life.
In a few years Turkey will eat straw !
why should I take an unecessary risk visting Turkey, there are friendlier places.
My parents used to go to Turkey and Israel every two years. I was always afraid to go there because we have Armenian relatives. I was sure I would end up in a Turkish jail, like in the "Midnight Express." Sorry, my image of Turkey has not changed; esp. under Erdogan, who seemed to promise so much and delivered so little in the way of reconciliation. I heard Turkey was beautiful; so is Greece. Don't know if I will ever see them (after all, it's about the people being friendly).
The debt ration is low, their population is young and although this may hurt them a bit, it really won;t that much, I am sure that there is an increase in tourist from the affluent in the middle east, which in the last decade has grown exponentially.
Economy the strongest in Europe? Average GDP per capita is 12k, the country's GDP is 700 billion. That is haaaaaarrrrrddlyyy the strongest Low debt does not mean a strong economy.
Total tourist numbers to Turkey have risen 13.65 per cent to July year on year. Israeli tourists account for less than 1 per cent of total numbers. Israelis have every right to stay away or indeed to boycott the countries or products of anyone with whom they disagree. But in the end Israel would be better off ending the occupation and repairing its increasingly damaged bridges around the world. Israel has so much to be proud of: why does it spend time defending those aspects which show her at its worst? At the moment Israel is in danger of acting on the world stage with the arrogance of China but with the power of Slovenia. It's in danger of looking ridiculous.
I am quite certain that global tourists, especially tourists from other Middle East countries, will more than compensate for the drop in tourists from Israel.
Israel, we all know you are a lunatic state, with twisted morals. You have a brutal military occupation on side and police on the other. How did you come to this mad conclusion? You treat the natives as foreigners while stealing and occupying their land with brutality. Leave aside your silly-ness for a minute and digest this (meaning your comments). The truth becomes filthy out your mouth. Reflect on your way of life. Sooner or later this will change, with or without your will. That is a Fact. You seem to have defied all laws and morals like no other. The reality is, you will never have peace.
Hashimi, thanks very much for your eloquent diatribe against Israel. Now, if you would only be so kind as to explain the Turkish genocide against two million Armenians and the ongoing mass murder of tens of thousands of Kurds by the so called peace loving Turkey we would be most appreciative.
I guess your used to such a civilized liberal environment in your islamo-fascist culture. Turkey killing Kurds and Armenians wholesale. Sudanese muslims slauhtering Darfur Blacks like sheep. Syrians crushing minority sects and Egyptians wiping out their Coptic Christian minoriy. Saudia prohibiting any religious practice or Church other than Islam. Stoning girls for adultery or even for seeing boys without a chaperone. Death sentences for being gay. Forcing your women to cover their faces and entire bodies like a piece of carpet owned by a man. Sunnis killing Shia wholesale in Iraq. Butchering each other all over the Muslim world. Please, you can speak your warped nonsense about Israel all you want but there are not too many Sudanese refugees (muslim) stopping in Egypt on the way to try to get into this horrible country of Israel. Generally, doesn;'t seem to be a big illegal immigrant problem into Arabia like there is into Europe USA and yes even Israel. Your countrues are repressive and backward. Your women are oppressed. Your minorities are persecuted. Yo apply barbaric laws of Sharia cutting off body parts and stoning people for sexual behaviour. Grow up and smell the roses. You are a failed society which endangers the existence of the civilized world.
If Israelis decide not to come Turkey, fine. Obviously the tourism will lose some money on this but on the large scale of Turkish tourism income, it is really minor, it may be more serious for some hotels where Israelis particularly liked to visit but these are minor.
Tired of the Turkish and Jewish people (and all other people) who are ignorant and prejudiced; and don't even know about the Armenian genocide. I am surrounded daily by people who are ignorant and prejudiced; no doubt a lot of this is reflected in your comments and theirs. I hear them on a daily basis. Education may be helpful, but is lacking on many topics.
well, now at least Israelis can travel somewhere you can at least purchase deodorant in the nation's capital (unlike Ankara).
Ana I suggest you get real,Israeli tourism to Turkey is worth well over 100 million dollars a year.No country can afford to throw away 100 million dollars.
It was almost 1 billion per year. But money doesnt matter in all cases, i just hope the israelis visited Turkey in the past have real good holidays anyway somewhere else. Dont search ironic words, they arent any. i mean it honest.
I think its great that we are giving our tourist money to countries like Bulgaria who are great friends, and even Greece who are making attempts at friendship, instead of to a country whose government obviously hates us and does not value our friendship. I personally went to Bulgaria and it was just as good any way. Let Turkey make up the difference from Arab and Muslim tourists. I have no ill will toward Turkish tourism businesses, I hope they are very successful. I just don't want to give my hard earned money to their government in the form of taxes.
Turkey is a country of which citizens were murdered in international waters by an ally.
Israel was a country deliberately provoked by an ally. Citizens that take up arms against another country are called terrorists. Watch the BBC Panorama documentary about the whole thing to understand the facts http://tiny.cc/qpnxu
Lets put things in perspective. These citizens were on a mission of confrontation. They sought they got it and the rest is history. There were not innocent citizens on a cruise liner.
Great friends Bulgaria and Greece - yeah, for the moment - till they have the cheek to disagree with Israel...
tourism in Turkey. Tourists come to Turkey from all over the world, Israeli tourists are a tiny percentage of the market and do not impact it, especially in a year when Istanbul is the European Capital of Culture. Stop giving yourselves so much importance because on a global scale you are tiny and you are not event that much noticed. Anyway there are a lot of Israelis travelling to Turkey, and businessmen never stoppted flying to Turkey. Just get real!
I am glad Turkish Tourism workers and business owners are not suffering. I have nothing against the Turkish people. But why would I give my money to your disgusting, anti-semitic, Islamist butt kissing government. And you're right, why would you care about 150000 Israeli tourists not coming. I'm sure its only a small percentage of total tourism. Its only about 100 million dollars according to my very weak estimation. Probably represents only a very small percentage.
i would say, dillusional behaviour! a superiority complex born from your tinyness!...ever heard of the saying that small people are the loudest? just look at the size of Turkey, at its population, at the total number of tourists per year...then work out the percentage. I am an outsider, not even Turkish or Israeli, and I can see it! Why can^t you...just do your Maths...
I agree that its nothing. Please read before you react.
Nevertheless I am impressed by what the Israelis have accomplished. Just look at their high tech industry or their nobel prize laureates. I am just focusing on Israel and not Jews in general (who's numbers are even more impressive. Thus I would emphasize how impressive the Israelis have been. Especially because they are so small. Turkey can not compare. With so many citizens they ought to have brought about much more interesting people in business, economics, academics etc.
Turkey is a wonderful holiday destination and I love the country and it's people. But why should we visit a country whose government deliberately provoked an act of violence on an ally. We were good friends with Turkey and what did we get in return from their leaders - a delegation of IHH terrorist thugs deliberately sent to ensure some more PR for the Turkish Prime Minister. As for the Turkish economy, I really hope that things are going well but I would like to point out that millions of its citizens work all over Europe because they cannot find work in their own country. Of course they miss the Israeli tourists who visit at times when other Europeans don't come and specifically during the Jewish holidays. It is very sad that the Turkish government's policies have led to this situation.
and do not allow them in their country until they give up racism.
MOSHE OR ACHMAD?
70k a year is a lot, this effect is intensified when you take into account that the vast majority of them were staying in Ankara. There was a recent TV show on how lack of Israeli tourism effected the area and while hotels weren't damaged too much, the local markets where Israelis buy are nearly out of business. The local sellers who learned basic Hebrew over the past 20 years are showing their frustration on their government saying "the government's meddling in other people's affairs is hurting our business".
than the bottom line. If Israeli's don't want to visit Turkey, fine. Others will take their place. As is posted by someone else, overall tourism in Turkey is up. People who support Turkey's stance are now supporting them with tourist dollars.
Erdogans increasing hostility towards Israel means Israelis stay away and so does their money and now Turkey is paying the price for their actions. There are lots of other nice and affordable holiday destinations where Israelis will be made welcome leave the turks looking like turkeys for blowing a good thing,
This is why Israel is isolated by the world. Turkey? No.
another cliche serves well here....biting the hand that feeds you.
anymore , we dont love. israel lost his friend . tourists could comes other city. to no come israeli isnot important
AND THEY DONT SUPPORT TERROR AND HATE AGAINST JEWS
...but they still give you the turkey trots!
And he bet on the wrong horse. Is he deranged? He worked hard to bolster his standing with Iran and the Islamist factions of Turkey. Good. Did he think that spewing the most venomous insults at Israel and her citizens was some kind of welcome mat for tourism? Hey, Erdogan--I go into my supermarkets here and see Turkish figs and just feel a wave of nausea as I pass them by. Congratulations--you got what you wanted. Maybe you can woo tourists from Somalia in a little while.
The hotels are full of Russian and Arab tourists in Turkey. So, even Israelis might want to visit Turkey, no room available. Try Greek islands from now on. Greeks are friendly people.
Only poor Russian tourists still come to Turkey. Ukrainians also started going to Turkey after Turkish resorts dramatically lowered prices. But a Ukrainian friend who just came from Turkey said that he'd prefer to go to Egypt & also go to Israel.
you are fooling yourself and trying to find out an excuse .. Turkey never had been such a country that risks foreigners lives..Do not think that the whole country is like the few people that you have seen as jihadist in TV ... If there had been some kind of life security why still there are millions of germans, british , greek , french , latin people are living in Turkey for years and they see Turkey as if their own homeland.. You are just foling yourself..In anyway , I love israel and I love israelies too much.. You are always more than welcome to my country but just try to be realistic. Do not believe the provocators words ... Come and see with your own eyes ....Turkish people is not your enemy .. we are very similar...
Hande, Israelis and Jews have nothing against Turkish people. We are very similar in many respects and have nothing but friendship to your people. Unfortunately your government has decided to cut ties as much as it can, embarking on a provocation Hope that with a new election things will change back to what it used to be
In the first 7 months, in comparison to the same period in the previous year: Israel - 79K (down 40%) Syria - 482K (up 113%) UAE - up 74% Lebanon - up 73% Iran - up 59% Qatar - up 49% Overall up 6.67% I don't think that Turkey is losing overall.
Turkey was the mostt popular foreign destination for Israeli travelers, accounting for about 13 percent of all departures and generating annual revenues of $300 million. so far 50,000 reservations have been canceled in popular Turkish hot-spots, making Cyprus and the Greek isles an easy alternative for Israeli holidaymakers. For Turkey's $660 billion economy, losing Israeli trade and tourism may be costly. It remained unclear whether defense orders would also be imperiled. Also at risk, , will be energy, agriculture and irrigation projects estimated at $20 billion. Turkey's Erdogan stands to lose and rightfully so he deserves it
they didn't come because they know isrl was in the wrong.
:)))
I remember years ago when Israeli tourists in Turkey were instructed to not speak Hebrew, to hide their Israeli passports, to hide their Magen Davids because there was/is a growing antisemitic sentiment within the Turkish Muslim population. It is no different than any other Muslim country when it comes to safety of Jewish tourists. Add to this an increasingly radical Islamic political leaders and hostile Turkish government towards Israel, you can't blame Israelis who are afraid for their lives to visit Turkey. Cyprus and Greece is another cheap alternative to a great vacation for Israelis and there is less worry that some Ahmed might attack you because of anti-Israel feelings.
As a Turkish citizen I would fear for my life in Israel. Since they killed 9 of my citizens. Why not me too? I have a Turkish passport and i oppose the sick politics of the government. So i can understand Israelis feeling insecure in Turkey. And don't worry about Turkey. Each year we host millions of tourists from all over the world. Lack of a couple of thousand Israeli tourists won't harm the tourism in Turkey. Thanks for your concern anyway.
As long as rightist clowns as Bibi and Lieberman are in the government there is no way i can feel safe. It's not about activists way to self-defence.
We are Canadian and my parents were in Turkey years ago and loved it. We really were considering it recently as we do one big trip a year. However, the flotilla incident led to much analysis in Canadian papers about Turkey and how it is changing. There was information on their relationships with totalitarian regimes like Iran where Canadians are upset about jailed Canadian/Iranians and womens' rights and about how so many journalists are being imprisoned in Turkey for insulting the regime and, of course, about the campaign against the Kurds. It is not just a human rights issue. It is a comfort issue. Turkey sounds like a bit of a scary place for people used to a free, western society to travel to. The conclusion in all the Canadian papers is that Turkey is definitely moving in the direction of an Islamist society.
Sure this country has problems like any other but the stuff you wrote are rather exagerrated. I've lived in Holland before and I find my lifestyle here a lot more modern than back there. We all have our different critereas of course when assessing such stuff, but the papers sadly only present one side of the argument (for some reason it's always the same arguments that are brought forward over and over again) and I can't really blame them because they just talk to the people who are unhappy because they were caught red handed when committing crimes that threaten people's lives. And now that they're caught they're seeking hope from the international press and find the most suitable way for this by provoking them.
and I assure you it is not a scary place. The people are very friendly and helpful. Many parts of the country are not on a par with western standards, but in tourist areas, they are quite similar. Don't be afraid, it is a lovely country to visit.
I was in Turkey during "flotilla" incident and a few moments were VERY scary. While on my first visit a year before everything was lovely as you describe. So Turkey is definitely a "risky" destination. I wouldn't feel safe going to Turkey now.
But the people on the ship were not tourists. They boarded the ship knowing that they are provoking Israel, and doing something that endangers Israeli security.
Even though I am not turkish but I have close relation with thier culture. Money is not everything, hearts of Palastinians are more important to Turkey.
it has nothing to do with Balestinians. it had a lot to do with Jihadis in Turkey with the help of their Jihadi leader who with all probability wants to slowly come in and permanently visit Gaza
You need to wait until you are heard. You will hear us (Azerbaijan) later too. We have a lot of Jews living here, most I cant disdingush whether Jew or Muslim- we dont even feel need for that. I am happy that they are safe here not only them all other minorities. Why I am telling this so dont call me anti-semitte :)
What is so ironic in this situation is the utter hypocrisy of Turkey in regards to the Kurds (not to mention Armenians). Up until just a few years ago, Kurds could be arrested for merely speaking Kurdish in public. Why doesn't Turkey give independence to Kurdistan? Unlike Hamas in Gaza, the Kurds have not declared that they have the intention of destroying the state they are struggling against.
Some people have morals and integrity, while others value money over all things...I'm sure Turkey will be just fine. And to be honest, why would Turkey want tourists from a country responsible for executing 9 of their humanitarian aid workers. Some things are more trouble than their worth.
not likely
At its peak Israeli tourists made up 1% of Turkey's tourism. When compared to 4% from Iran for example, I am sure that Turkish tourist industry will have a large raise in Arabs and Muslims that until now have shunned Turkey because of its close relations with Israel. The real problem is the quality of service and prices in Israeli hotels. Most Israelis did not go to Turkey to soak up the culture and see the antiquities - they went because of the price. We need to improve our service and reduce our prices at home, so that the money from what should be domestic tourism, stays in Israel.
Id be embarrassed to show my face in a country that my fellow countrymen just murdered 9 people that were citizens of in cold blood as well. Id never show my face in Iraq out of shame.
keep up the taqiya.
Having a guilty conscience too I guess. Not surprising if they killed much more people than Jews on Marmara.
Iraq, Afganistan, Somalia, Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Columbia, Mexico. Just stay in your "liberal" loonies neighbourhood...
After all openly anti-Semitic rhetoric, people are afraid of violence. No one feels comfortable anymore going on vacation with kids to such a country.
Every Israeli tourist is welcome to stay in Turkey if he or she wishes to come. There is no need for an Israeli tourist to be afraid of his or her life in Turkey.
yelling and bashing Turkey burning a Turkish flag as a Turk? What would be your sentiments? I've been in Turkey in Last May as an Israeli tourist in the days of flotilla incident. To abtract my experience in a word it was a just a hell.
Israelis have always been welcome in Turkey. It is their loss because the holiday packages are so cheap. Their place is being taken by Russians and others . Turkey won't be lacking tourists but Israeli tourists are welcome, too. Not PM Netanyahu, nor Minister Leiberman.-, not Barak,
its Turkey's loss , Tourism is big business in any country and the people of Turkey who are the ones who are suffering(big time) for their governments decision to support the IHH and flotilla of martyrs , If Turkey is offering cheap vacation packages than they must be already hurting for business .. I live in Canada and I would personally think twice about visiting Turkey after their governments support of the IHH , IMO , they made a huge mistake by allowing and giving their blessing for the flotilla to actually sail for Gaza ,,
The article fails to mention that Turkey' tourism is booming with European visitors this year. Thus the loss of Israelis has not been felt so far.
turkey, Abdalla, yusef, hassan, all posting sequentially in under 3 minutes, all one liners, hmmm, wonder if its not the same loser turk posting from his sweaty steam bath? must be the heat!
sorry guys, I'm not interested in coming, nor anyone I know. Greek islands are a much better destination.
Sorry Sir,I'm French and I won't go to your country.I just don't want to take any risk in being hostage in an islamist country.
do not help either.
That money was from hard work and creativity? Now what does the Arab world have to offer? Stolen land acquired by the sword???? And many of these potential Jewish tourists and their descendants have come from Arab nations which stole their lands and personal property.
Hate succcess, cant beat it so the best you can do is midless slogans to justify where you stand..Turkey is 97 in the world in per capita GDP.
will israel survive without US help? you just live yet
Jews throughout the world, certainly not all Jews but most Jews, and many of their non-Jewish friends, are also staying away in droves. I'm one of those who would love to see & experience Turkey but won't. Islamification has its price and that price will be paid by Turks. There is a lot of interesting world to explore without going to a place where so many have adopted the notion of Dhimmi!
There is no islamification in Turkey. In fact, college students are not allowed to university premises on account of their headscarves. There is not a single concrete evidence that Turkey is being so-called islamified. On the other hand, as its name reveals Israel is a jewish state.
I'm not Jewish, but I will avoid Turkey, as well. That includes my family. That in spite of the fact that I did go to visit Turkey a couple of years ago. It was actually both very nice and utterly appalling. The lack of organization, the bad public transportation, the backwards attitudes, even in the hotel, it all seemed a bit too much. But as the Erdogan regime strengthens its demagogy, I cement my resolve not to ever put foot in your country.
As my old economics professor used to say "There's no free lunch". Edrogan's administration decided that the best way to play populist demagogue was to bash Israel and cuddle up to regimes like Iran and Sudan, and violent extremist groups like HAMAS and Hizballah. When you hail and praise mass murderers and salute those who's ideology calls for the death of Jews, and who have been backing it up with suicide bombs and rockets then the people you're trying to lure as tourists to your country are going to think twice, if not more, before deciding if they want to spend their hard-earned dollars, euros, shekels, whatever, in your country. Based on the peak 2008 numbers and a rough vacation cost of about $2,000 per couple you're talking about a hit of anywhere from $100 million to $200 million annually.
You think a country that has Israel's economy many many times over cannot find alternatives? On my part, I say good riddance. We should have banned Israelis from coming until they put a stop to their government's crimes anyway.
The loss of Israeli Jewish tourism will hardly break Turkey's bank. Get a life.
Turkey GDP $700 billion Turkey GDP per capita $9941 Israel GDP $200 billion Israel GDP per capita $27651 So Israel's GDP per capita is many times higher than Turkey's.
Note the trend downwards in Turkish economy. Lots of competition in textile manufacturing, one of Turkeys largest industries, from around the world. Israel has a high tech economy.
Tukey may have lost few Isreali tourists, but the shortfall has been an increase in Arab tourist.
it is just 3.5 times gdp for a country of over 80 million compared to israel s 7 million!
London Paris NY Vegas Bangkok etc. The poor ones drop in next door
