Israel's national under-21 team scored a hollow 5-0 victory yesterday over visiting Montenegro, unable to advance to the Euro 2011 finals in Denmark.

With Sweden heading Israel's qualification group, the host was hoping to finish among the top four second-place teams among the 10 groups on the basis of goal difference.

However, Scotland scored in the 89th minute to beat Austria in Group 10 and grab the fourth and final slot away from Israel, which could only take comfort from the impressive offensive display in its Group 6 finale.

Bibras Natkho scored a brace with a first minute free kick into the far corner and a 77th minute goal. Maor Buzaglo also scored twice, in the 27th minute with a penalty kick and after dribbling past three players in the 57th minute.

Substitute Rahamaim Tzukul, who plays for F.C. Ashdod, finished the scoring in the 86th minute. (
