Half of the penultimate round of Europa Cup games will take place this evening. In the other game in Hapoel Tel Aviv's group, Hamburg will host Rapid Vienna and a win will guarantee that the German powerhouse qualifies for the next round.

Hamburg was routed 3-0 in Vienna in its previous meeting, but it should be a completely different story tonight despite a long injury list.

"We have to finish it tomorrow so as not to get mixed up in Tel Aviv," said Hamburg captain David Jarolim at a press conference yesterday.

Valencia will host Group 2 leaders Lille in an intriguing encounter, while Genoa, which is also battling for a place in the next round, will travel to last-placed Slavia Prague. Anderlecht will advance from Group 1 if it avoids defeat at home to Dinamo Zagreb, in which case one point will also suffice for Ajex away to Politehnica Timisoara.

In Group 7 a draw will suffice for Red Bull Salzburg at home to Lazio, while Villarreal will hope to continue its recent improvement at Levski Sofia.

Everton is looking for a win in Greece against AEK Athens, and could advance to the next round already tonight if BATE loses at home to Benfica. "We want to win the Athens game to improve our morale," said Everton's South African midfielder Steven Pienaar after losing to Liverpool over the weekend.
