Beitar fan stabbed in pregame brawl
Fan admitted to Soroka Medical Center with minor injuries; six arrested.
A Beitar Jerusalem fan was stabbed in a brawl between rival groups of supporters shortly before the match at Hapoel Be'er Sheva on Saturday. The fan was admitted to Soroka Medical Center with minor injuries. The police arrested six fans. One officer was treated for minor injuries.
Hapoel, which over the past year seemed to be on a new path, free of violence by its fans, said in a statement it fiercely denounces all violence on and off the field, noting that "red lines were crossed once again today." It said the club will continue its efforts with fans and the police to reduce violence.
