Maccabi Tel Aviv is looking at power-forward Marcus Haislip as a possible replacement for Maceo Baston should the center receive an NBA contract or decide not to return to Israel because of the security situation.
Haislip, a No. 13 pick for the Bucks in the 2002 NBA Draft, played three seasons for Milwaukee as a bench player, averaging a disappointing 3.6 points and 1.5 rebounds before signing for the Indiana Pacers during the 2004-05 season in order to fill the gap at power forward due to the 15-game suspension of Jermaine O'Neal.
Haislip played for Ulker Istanbul last season, averaging 14 points and 11 rebounds before leaving without authorization in mid-season.
Maccabi is also looking for a back-court player with Alex Acker and Maurice Evans in the front-running. Media reports in Spain yesterday quoted Tau Vitoria's Roco Leni Ukic as saying he had been approached by Maccabi.
