You could do that, or you could fix the wrongs of the (relatively recent) past and present. Just because you want to live in Eretz Yisrael doesn't mean no one else can, you don't have to deprive people of their ancestral homes just because your ancestors also lived there. When two peoples want to live in the same land they either fight it out or they learn to share. How is fighting it out working out for you? You're already sharing with some (Israeli) Palestinians, surely you can share with the rest, unless you think Palestinians too should be pushed around from country to country for 1800 years to deserve coming back. You can talk about your catastrophes all you want, or you can fix them. You already tried to fix yours, now try fixing the one you created.

Our politicians and Dr. Klein, apparently, have forgotten that 9 Av has traditionally been about repentance.. They've shifted its focus away from responsibility and guilt to victimization.
