June 1967 was good for the Arabs

The victors are the vanquished, the vanquished are the victors. Israel continues to suffer from a "catastrophe", while the Arabs have eschewed aggressive slogans that they had "no intention of carrying out" and embraced "serious peace offers." Please take me to this utopia, it surpasses Oceania in its doublethink. You state it, hence it must be so. Facts are such unnecessary irksome inconveniences.

The reason why the slogans that the Arabs kept repeating ad nauseum were not carried out was because they did not have the means at their disposal; as is evidenced by the systematic and relentless attempts to put those words into action wherever and wherever they have the means. Yes, the War did change things for Israel and the Arabs,like none before; but considering what was on offer in event of a defeat -again based on the same slogans that the Arabs may or may not have carried out had the outcome been otherwise- no Israeli with the right might would have wanted defeat. As they say, the Jew is ready to give up his life for victories and Arab is ready to die for defeats!

The author drank a little too much Hegel this morning. Defeat is victory. Why? Because of the "spirit of dignity". The author confuses the "spirit of dignity" with dignity itself. The author claims that the Arabs have stopped issuing empty bellicose statements against Israel. This is not true. They simply have toned them down and have duplicitously spoken peace at the same time. Fact is the PA has not replaced their genocidal charter, and have just recently effectively affirmed it when the honored Helen Thomas after she advocated the removal of all (European) Jews from Israel. The author's single concrete example of how the Six Day War was a defeat for Israel is the 1973 war. Wrong. The Six Day War was a victory, but the ensuing overconfidence was a disastrous mistake. The author has conflated the event with its reaction and assumes them to be the same. The Arab regimes still are dictatorial, backwards and, as I infer from the author, are still more interested in a "spirit of dignity" that providing a dignified life for their people.
