Nearly 20 cm of snow fell at the Hermon ski resort over the weekend, but no unusual amounts of rain were registered in the rest of the country. Local showers may continue today, but temperatures are expected to rise in the middle of the week, and no rain is expected at the weekend.
According to the Meteo-Tech Company, the Rosh Pina area saw 19 mm of rain over the weekend. Rosh Pina is in the Lake Kinneret basin and all in all just 200 cm of rain fell there since the winter rains began, less than half of the average. Only seven weeks remain before the main rain season comes to an end. These numbers mean that Lake Kinneret has barely risen since the beginning of the winter.
In Netanya, the past week saw 50 mm of rain, also a relatively small amount for the area, which has seen 168 mm of rain since the beginning of the rainy season, while the multiyear average is 570 mm. Jerusalem has been even drier, with just 91 mm of rain falling since the beginning of the wet season, while the multiyear average is 614 mm.
Today, temperatures are expected to rise slightly, with a small chance of rain, and light drizzle may fall tomorrow.
