Roses's Tragedy / Body to be flown to France for burial

By Yigal Hai

The remains of four-year-old Rose Pizem will be flown to France and buried there some time this week, police sources told Haaretz yesterday, adding that the girls' parents had requested the move. Police believe Rose's grandfather killed her earlier this year with her mother's knowledge and threw her body in the Yarkon River.

Coroners at Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine finished examining what was left of the girl's body on Friday. "Until now, we have received no formal request to take the child to burial," the institute said last night.

"It appears the child will be buried in France but the final arrangements have not been made," a police source told Haaretz. "The girl's mother [Marie-Charlotte Renault] said she wanted the child to be buried in France, and so did the father, Benjamin. We will make the necessary arrangements together with Interpol and the French Embassy."

The source added that the body's shipment would entail "quite a bit" of coordination and said he expected it to be shipped this week.

The police is waiting for a final forensic report from the institute. "When we have the written report, we will know what to do," police said in response to Haaretz's query.
