Rights groups protest Shin Bet `harassment' of Arab journalists
The Association for Civil Rights in Israel and I'lam (the center for Arab-Palestinian communications) submitted a joint request yesterday to Attorney General Menachem Mazuz calling on him to order the Shin Bet domestic security service to cease harassment of Arab journalists.
The civil rights movements were spurred into action after Ahmed Abu Hussein, the editor of Arabs48, an Arabic-language Web site, was interrogated by Shin Bet officials a week ago over his correspondences with Arab journalists outside of Israel.
Abu Hussein was the second Arab journalist in a month to be interrogated by the Shin Bet.
